Because Bio-101 focuses on protocols that have been in use by the research community for some time, a community-driven review process is used to assess and improve the quality of each protocol over time. This is done using a system that allows readers to comment line-by-line on each protocol. Other users can rate these comments, and highly rated comments will become integrated in later updates of the protocol. For experimental validation, authors are encouraged to cite a publication or preprint where the protocol was used successfully in the past.
