Protocol Submission Procedure

Bio-protocol is an open access journal. Submission to Bio-protocol occurs by invitation, self-submission, or upon recommendation by editors from our collaborating journals.

1. Submitting a protocol: Authors are required to submit their protocol draft within two months of accepting our invitation or completing the presubmission. Please see Protocol Preparation Guidelines for details on how to prepare a protocol draft.

2. Initial protocol checks: After protocol submission, our team evaluates the manuscript to ensure it follows the Bio-protocol manuscript template and includes all required sections. Authors are then notified that their manuscript has been sent for peer review or that any missing information needs to be included.

3. Review process: Each protocol is evaluated by three reviewers according to our Peer Review Process, usually within four weeks. Authors are then asked to address all reviewer comments and revise their draft within two weeks. Within ten days, reviewers will confirm whether the new version properly acknowledged their comments and/or followed their suggestions.

4. Publishing: Once the reviewers and editors approve the final draft and upon receipt of the signed License to Publish (LTP) agreement, the protocol will be published online within one month.
